Modernization of the cylinder head

The order of work on modernization

Replacing the camshaft

Replacement procedure

You can replace the camshaft yourself. To do this, it is important to observe the following work rules:

  1. Remove the air filter box under the hood by unscrewing the screws.
  2. Disconnect all wires and cables connected to the filter.

  8. Remove the chain tensioner by unscrewing the two nuts securing it with a 10 wrench.

  9. Remove the camshaft sprocket.
  10. Remove the camshaft by unscrewing the nuts with a 13 wrench.

Install the new camshaft in reverse order.

Compressor for VAZ 2107

Another way to increase the power of the power unit is to install a compressor. This device will contribute to the injection of fuel, which, in turn, will invariably entail an increase in the power characteristics of the motor.

Most car owners recommend installing a compressor of a certain brand, namely PK05D, since it is this device that has the characteristics that are optimally suited for the VAZ 2107. We will consider an important factor that the installation of PK05D does not imply its introduction into the piston group of the "seven" engine.   8. Put a pipe on the inlet of the compressor, fix the filter on its opposite end.
  9. Install the flange into the carburetor.
  10. Connect the fitting hose between the compressor and the carburetor.

  11. Adjust the tension of the alternator belt, tighten the belt if necessary.

  1. Prepare the motor for installation. To do this, remove the flywheel and grind the crown from the inside. Turning is necessary so that the parts of the starter are more easily connected to the flywheel clutch. In addition to turning, it will be necessary to replace the input shaft bearing with a bearing from 2112, otherwise the new engine simply will not enter the landing site.

  2. Install the engine mount. The best pillow option is from the Niva car, as it can withstand heavy loads. Put a few thick washers on the pillows to raise the engine a little higher.

  4. Fasten the starter using new bolts and wrenches.
