For the first time, the prototype of the sports Lada Vesta with increased ground clearance and crossover elements was presented to the world of motorists in 2016. Two years later, the manufacturer turned the idea into reality. The model is built on the Vesta platform in the station wagon (Cross version). Before the appearance of this model, the only sedan with an off-road capability available in the post-Soviet space was the Volvo S60 (Cross Country modification).

The line of motors for the sedan with crossover characteristics includes the same power units as for the cross-station wagon. These are two 16-valve options for 1.6 and 1.8 liters. They work in tandem with an updated 5-speed manual transmission. The engines received an electronic fuel injection system.

Since this is an off-road modification of the sedan, it, like the cross-station wagon, has a reinforced and slightly modified suspension. The steering rack received a hydraulic booster. The brake system has acquired ABS and ESP by default, an assistant when starting up a hill.
