Volvo XC60 - Introducing the complete set of the car

You can take for example the Volvo XC60. Certain items of equipment should be in the premium class, but there are also many "non-obvious" things that you do not expect and that competitors cannot offer. Let's take the cheapest version, in the price list for 211.90 euros - B4 FWD Essential, i.e. gasoline, mild hybrid, mild hybrid, front axle drive. For the record, let's add that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine develops 197 horses, and the electric one that supports it adds another 14 hp.

XC60 what it has as standard

First, it has an automatic transmission, 8-speed Geartronic. So there are no problems with quickly starting off, with joining the movement there are no problems, the engine does not suddenly stall at the intersection - this can happen to anyone, regardless of experience. Not everyone needs to be a fan of cars and driving to wonder what gear is best to choose at the moment. An automatic is an automatic, you step on the gas and it doesn't matter. This is probably why today, in the premium car segment, automatic transmissions have almost completely replaced manual transmissions.

Air conditioning automatic and two-zone. The XC60, however, features a Clean Zone system that eliminates up to 95 percent. particulate matter PM 2.5 from the air entering the passenger compartment. Thanks to this, you can breathe clean air in the XC60 cabin, regardless of external conditions.

Every XC60 also comes standard with seven airbags: two front airbags, two front side airbags, two curtain airbags, and a driver's knee airbag. In this regard, everything is as it should be in this class of cars. The same can be said about the standard LED headlights.

Something for the young and forever young at heart is the Google infotainment system with navigation and internet connectivity. In other words, built-in Google features, including Google Maps. Not only do you get real-time navigation to suggest route corrections based on the current traffic situation, but you also get a voice assistant that wakes you up to "Hey Google" and access to the Google Play store. Oh, and there's also Apple Car Play if you need it. And the instrument cluster is made in the form of a 12-inch display.

ABS and ESP are now mandatory, but XC60 has eg. Incoming Lane Mitigation. It helps you avoid oncoming traffic by automatically turning the steering wheel and guiding your Volvo into the correct safe lane. Hill Descent Control makes it easier to descend hills at speeds of 8-40 km/h. You will appreciate it not only off-road, perhaps most often in multi-storey parking lots. It will come in handy, as will the uphill assistant, which helps when starting uphill, as a result of temporary intervention in the operation of the brake system.

Of the “non-obvious” things that I mentioned, Concoming Lane Mitigation, is also worth mentioning: a parking ticket holder in the lower left corner of the windshield, heating and ventilation of the passenger compartment with residual heat after turning off the engine (for a maximum of a quarter of an hour), electric folding headrests on the outer rear seat, power height adjustment for both front seats, power bi-directional lumbar support for both front seats, power child safety locks for rear doors, windshield washer jets in wipers, two-piece stainless steel boot sill protection, yes, that's it at the base price of the basic version, without any additional payments.

Volvo XC60 - presenting the complete set of the car

XC60, how do the best versions differ?

Let's focus on the B4 FWD hybrid. After Essential, the second trim level is Core. The Core features underfloor lighting with lamps under the side door handles, glossy aluminum moldings around the side windows, and a 9-inch vertical center display that's easy to use with gloves on.

In the Plus versions, i.e. Plus Bright and Plus Dark, leather upholstery is dominated by smooth grained leather upholstery with eye-catching aluminum accents in the Metal Mesh interior, with a contrasting polished pattern.

Ultimate Bright and Ultimate Dark are associated with mild hybrids XC60 B5 AWD and XC60 B6 AWD. The main change is AWD (All Wheel Drive), four-wheel drive. The 2.0 petrol engine develops more power, not 197 horses, only 250 (in B5) or 300 (in B6) electric remains the same, 14 hp. Audio equipment from the famous American company Harman Kardon. The Harman Kardon Premium Sound System uses a 600W amplifier to power 14 Hi-Fi speakers, including a ventilated subwoofer with Fresh Air technology. This is because the subwoofer lets a lot of air through the hole in the rear wheel arch, which allows you to get very low bass and no distortion. In the cabin, the dashboard stitched to match the color attracts attention. There's an even better Bowers & Wilkins sound system to choose from, but it comes at an additional cost.

XC 60, maximum standard equipment

The richest and at the same time the most expensive version is Polestar Engineered. It is present in the T8 eAWD car, in the Recharge plug-in hybrid with a total capacity of 455 horses! Even many sports cars do not have this potential. The Polestar Engineered features an eponymous radiator dummy, Oehlins suspension (Dual Flow Valve technology allows shock absorbers to respond faster), effective Brembo brakes, 21-inch alloy wheels with low-profile 255/40 tires. In the cabin, attention is drawn to the black headlining, the crystal gearshift lever, made by Swedish craftsmen from Orrefors. The upholstery is also original, combining high-quality nappa leather, ecological leather and fabric.

Volvo, what kind of SUVs does it have with traditional engines?

The Volvo XC60 is a mid-sized SUV, larger than the XC40 and smaller than the XC90.. For many drivers, for many families looking for a versatile and prestigious car, it seems to be the best choice. Because the XC40 might be too small, especially for leisure travel, and the XC90 might be too big for the city (narrow streets, parking lots, etc.). The XC60 has enough boot space for everyday use and long-distance travel: 483 liters for the mild hybrid and 468 liters for the Recharge plug-in hybrid.
