Steering tips on VAZ 2110-2112 cars, like ball joints, need regular replacement, but in most cases they have to be changed with especially pronounced symptoms. For example, if knocks are heard from the side of the front suspension, and the steering has become a little loose, then most likely it is in the ends of the steering rods.
You can try to shake the wheel from side to side, as well as up and down, on a raised car. A heavily worn tip will make itself felt and you will see everything with the naked eye - both excessive play and too much free play. In order to replace all this at home, we need a tool, the list of which is given below:
- key for 19 cap
- 27 open-end wrench
- pliers
- ball joint and steering tip puller

The first step is to raise the front part of the VAZ 2110-2112 with a jack and remove the wheel, having previously unscrewed all the bolts of its fastening. Then, using pliers, take out the cotter pin, which fixes the ball pin fastening nut:
Now you can unscrew the nut, since nothing else will lock it. It is advisable to first spray it with a penetrating lubricant:
Now we need a puller. We dress it in such a way as shown in the photo below:
Now turn the puller bolt with a wrench until the tip pin pops out of its seat.
As you can see, everything is ready from below and it remains to unscrew it from the steering rod. To do this, you need a key for 27. Since I didn't have one at hand, I had to use a wrench:
If it begins to turn away with the clutch, then you can remove everything together, and then unscrew and separate it in a vice. If the nut moved from its place normally, then you can twist the tip clockwise in order to completely remove it from the rod:
It should be borne in mind that when unscrewing it is better to remember the number of revolutions made, since later, during installation, this will allow you to keep the approximate convergence of the front wheels. You can buy new tie rod ends for the VAZ 2110-2112 at a price of about 700 rubles per pair, although there are prices that are cheaper. But it is better not to save much on such spare parts, so as not to repeat this procedure again in a month.
