Replacing the timing chain damper VAZ 2107

To replace the damper you will need:

  • a new timing chain damper for the VAZ 2107 (today it costs about 500 rubles);
  • a piece of steel wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm and a length of 20 cm;
  • set of open-end wrenches;
  • a set of socket wrenches with a collar;
  • flat blade screwdriver.

Sequence of work

Work on replacing the VAZ 2107 chain damper is carried out in the following order.

  1. The air filter is removed. To do this, with a 12-mm open-end wrench, five bolts securing the filter are unscrewed. It is impossible to get to the damper without dismantling the filter.
