Mercedes M113 engine
Content
The V8 series of Mercedes M113 engines with a volume of 4.3 and 5.0 liters was produced from 1997 to 2008 and was installed on the largest and most expensive cars of the concern, such as W211, W219, W220 and W251. There was an even more powerful modification of the 5.4-liter engine for AMG models.
The V8 line also includes internal combustion engines: M119, M157, M273 and M278.

Disadvantages, breakdowns and problems of the M113
The main problem of the power units of this family is the huge oil consumption
The main cause of the oil burner is usually hardened valve stem seals.
Due to contamination of the crankcase ventilation, the lubricant presses through gaskets or seals
Also, the source of leaks is often the oil filter housing and heat exchanger.
Another branded engine failure is the destruction of the crankshaft pulley.
