The owner, through the Bonhams auction house, sold this wonderful car in Goodwood for $29,6 million. The auction ended at over $31 million, a record price for a car at the time. This result was beaten just over a year later. At the same auction house, a Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for more than $39 million.

The Mercedes W196R is a 1 Formula One car in which, among other things, he was successful. the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio. This is the one on which he won the German and Swiss Grand Prix.
