October 15.10.1993, XNUMX | Start of production in Lublin

This week we celebrate the anniversary of the production of the Lublin, a delivery truck two decades too late. Work on the Beetle's successor had been going on since the turn of the seventies and eighties, but it was necessary to wait for the final version to be completed until the system was changed. At that time, Lublin no longer looked so fresh, but with its predecessor it looked much better.

Already in the mid-nineties, Lublin was an outdated structure. Polish-made diesel (Andoria 4C90) produced only 70 hp. and did not provide good performance. The capabilities of the unit have been improved through the use of a turbocharger, which increased power to 90 hp. Lublin has several body options: a van, a van body, as well as a variant with a fixed body. Interestingly, the owner of a furniture manufacturing company decided to locate his vehicle fleet in Lublin with the help of a container and was probably one of the company's biggest customers.

The history of Lublin lasted until 2016, but not without problems. The first appeared in 2001, when the plant was declared bankrupt. The company was saved by engine supplier Andoria, who took over the plant and resumed production in 2002. It later passed into the hands of Intrall, which went bankrupt in 2007. The FS Lublin factory was rescued by DZT Tymińscy in 2009 and brought into production Lublin's latest incarnation, the Pasagon, which, although it went into series production in 2011, was never produced in large numbers.
