After the Second World War, it was a dynamic car manufacturer whose most famous model was the Isabella. Before it saw the light of day, the Borgward Hansa debuted, the first all-German car designed after the war.

The Borgward was a very modern design, especially compared to pre-war competitors. Mercedes was still producing the 170V and BMW was in the process of developing the first post-war car (BMW 502).

Hansa was a medium-sized passenger car (4,4 meters long) with a 1,5-liter engine (later also 1,8 liters), capable of speeds of 125 km / h. Among others, it stood out in that it had a three-volume, all-metal body.

During a short production period, Borgward also introduced a diesel-powered variant available in both passenger and freight versions. The Hans was offered in sedan, station wagon, convertible and van versions. The car remained in production until 1954 and was replaced by the iconic Isabella.
