5 serious malfunctions with which you can safely drive

Many motorists immediately rush to the service station when a malfunction occurs. No less army of car owners calmly drives frankly collapsing vehicles and does not even think about “setting it to repair”. In this regard, we decided to list the main problems with the machine's systems, in which its safe operation is, in principle, possible.

The set of conditionally non-critical malfunctions of the machine is rather narrow and concerns, for the most part, its electronic filling and service systems.

The first such problem that comes to mind is related to the incorrect operation of the lambda probe - the oxygen content sensor in the exhaust gases. From it, the engine control unit (ECU) continuously receives data on the completeness of fuel combustion and adjusts the fuel injection mode accordingly.

When the oxygen sensor is not working, the ECU switches to work according to the emergency algorithm. The driver may notice a drop in engine power and an increase in fuel consumption. But at the same time, the car will be quite able to move without any problems for itself. Unless the catalytic converter will be at risk of accelerated failure. But if it is already "knocked out", then this trouble is eliminated.

The second system, the termination of which is not yet a reason to put a car on a joke, is ABS and ESP. They really help to move safely on slippery surfaces and at high speed. However, somehow people still drive on the old Zhiguli "classic" and front-wheel drive "nines" of the same manufacturer.

And in such cars, even ABS is not provided for in the design. This means that a normal driver himself can replace all these electric "bells and whistles" - with sufficient experience and driving accuracy.

Another useful device in the car, without which it is quite possible to drive, is the airbag. In the event of an accident, its absence can become critical, but without an accident, it doesn’t matter what it is, what it isn’t.

A very unpleasant for the driver and passengers, but completely “not affecting the speed” breakdown in the car is the failure of the air conditioning system. A lot of things can fail there - from a refrigerant that has escaped through some crack to a jammed compressor. The car can drive perfectly even without a “condo”, but its crew is far from always.

From the same series - the failure of the cruise control system or any other assistants. For example, parking sensors, side or rear view cameras, electric tailgate (or lid), etc. With such technical problems, the car drives fine. Inoperative systems only cause some inconvenience to the owner, nothing more.
