On February 22, 1962, the Druzhba oil pipeline was launched, connecting the Soviet Union, Poland and the GDR. The oil pipeline starts in Almetievsk, passes through Samara and Bryansk to Mozyr, where it is divided into two lines: the northern one, passing through Belarus and Poland to German Leipzig, and the southern one, passing through Ukraine and Slovakia, with two branches to the Czech Republic and Hungary. It was originally an oil distribution system for the western satellites of the Soviet Union. (PKF)
