Fiat 500 won the sympathy of drivers. Abarth 500 - additional recognition. There are few cars so inconspicuous, so seemingly feminine, that with a man behind the wheel would not make him the butt of jokes. How is the Abarth 500 with the scorpion on the hood?

Yellow? Really?

It's probably not a secret that motor racing is more popular among men. On AutoCentrum.pl, the yellow Abarth 500 was also handed over to the men's edition.

- There were no men? One of us heard these words from a passerby. Maybe right. Only then did we start to wonder if the fact that everyone is looking at us has a positive reason?

Abarth looks great and everyone really appreciates it. However, you will have to get rid of all the complexes before getting into such a small and at the same time such a conspicuous car.

Driving in a chair

The driving position is not sporty. It's more like driving a low minivan, but it applies to regular Fiat 500s as well as many other small hot hatches. We are simply too tall, and if we are above 1,75, it also affects other elements of the ride.

When our head is close to the roof and the watch is somewhere behind the wheel, our vision has to travel quite a distance from the road to the watch and back. For the same reason, in sportier cars it is better to sit lower so that all the instruments are directly in front of your eyes.

The Sabelt seats are sporty, provide a very good level of support, but again, they are designed for thin people. However, we cannot adjust their height. A little embarrassing and the steering wheel adjustment range, which is really small. It's a pity, because sports driving begins with the position behind the wheel, and it is difficult to find the ideal one here. In addition, to adjust the angle of the backrest, you need to open the door!

An interesting idea is also the display of the on-board computer, which - in the case of parking - will show a visualization of the distance to the obstacle. The problem is that turning the steering wheel in the parking lot, we close this screen - and we can only rely on the beep.

While there are a few other annoying things here, the Abart 595C has something that will make you forget everything on sunny days. Soft top that folds almost completely automatically.

Am I disappointing anyone if I remind you that the trunk holds only 185 liters? The feed opening is very small. Having moved the roof all the way, we cannot get to the trunk, but just press the handle and it will automatically move to a position where it can be opened.

Does he control what he looks like?

Depends on what you expect. Merciless gaming provocation? It's a little like that here. Under hard acceleration, the torque control is very strong. The steering wheel practically does not go out of hand, but this is the best thing that is here. Abarth is alive. He teases the driver.

It would be possible to limit this effect with the help of a mechanical shere - and we can order it from Abarth, but it costs as much as 10 PLN. It's too much. Even the automatic is half the price of it, though I wouldn't want that here - the manual makes you feel more connected to the car and works quite well.

The Abarth brakes are great, but why be surprised if you have 305mm discs with four-piston Brembo brakes in such a tiny one? Driving on the highway does not give them problems and they do not overheat, they brake all the time with the same efficiency, but you must admit that this is not a colossus that needs to be stopped. Weighs only 1040 kg.
