Cordless Impact Wrenches vs. Cordless Screwdrivers

	A cordless screwdriver is a power tool designed for inserting and removing screws and for drilling small pilot holes. Cordless screwdrivers are generally smaller, lighter and less expensive than cordless impact drivers.
	But… Cordless screwdrivers are not very powerful and are designed to drive smaller screws into soft materials such as pine. They can only produce about 10 newton meters of torque, whereas most cordless impact wrenches can produce 150! For more information on torque see our section: What is the torque?
	If you want to drive small and large screws in soft and hard materials, consider a cordless impact driver.
