Samsung SDI Batteries for Harley-Davidson Electric Motorcycle

The first electric motorcycle of the American brand Livewire will use the batteries of the Korean concern Samsung SDI.

Harley-Davidson was already working with Samsung batteries to create the first prototype, unveiled in 2014. As such, the partnership will continue for the final model, which will begin production this year. At this stage, the capacity of the pack has not yet been specified.

Announcing an urban range of around 170 kilometers, the Livewire will be powered by its own electric motor. Called HD Revelation, it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3.5 seconds. In France, pre-orders are scheduled to open in mid-February. The declared selling price: € 33.900.

Harley-Davidson is not the first manufacturer to use the Korean group's know-how. In the automotive sector, Volkswagen and BMW are already using Samsung-SDI batteries in the Volkswagen e-Golf and BMW i3.
