And that's basically what, ie. delaying the exit of the stolen car, is the fight against car theft. The more time the thief spends on suspicious manipulations with the vehicle, the greater the likelihood of an accident - a police or city guard patrol may appear, the owner, and a passerby may be interested in his behavior.

Therefore, even today, when electronics reign supreme among security devices, the simplest, mechanical locks cannot be ignored. The gearbox lock, the cane that is put on the steering wheel and prevents it from rotating, the pedal covers - all this forces the thief to spend time removing them. In addition, the modern thief is more likely to be armed with a computer than an ordinary crowbar, and may simply not have the tools to remove a mechanical blockage. In this area, the best solutions are non-standard solutions, for example, homemade and made from slipways that block the car pedals. You can also try to intervene (but in older models of cars, without advanced electronics) in the electrical system and install a hidden ignition switch, fuel pump, etc., so that the car will not start.

The car alarm can detect presence through, for example, motion sensors, a load sensor on the driver's seat, register the opening of doors, etc. Additionally, sensors are usually installed to open the car's hood and tailgate. The owner must deactivate the device, otherwise it will react by turning on the siren, light, turn off some circuit in the car, which will not allow the engine to start. The car alarm can also notify the owner of an attempted car theft, for example, via SMS. Car alarms can be purchased immediately at a car dealership, installed in a workshop, and the simplest ones can be made by hand.

Cars are usually equipped with immobilizers from the factory. This device allows the car to drive away without decoding the system. Immobilizer decoding is carried out, for example, by entering the code on a miniature keyboard, by touching the code card, "chip" (code key) to the reader. The most popular deactivation is by inserting the key into the ignition - a transponder is hidden in the key. The reader determines the corresponding code, and the car computer does not block any systems in the car, and you can turn on the engine. Otherwise, starting is not possible or the car stalls every few moments. Factory immobilizers are an easy deterrent for thieves because they specialize in certain car brands and understand their electronics.

If all the alarms and locks are out of order, you can try to find the stolen car. This will help devices that allow you to determine the position of the car by radio identification, via a cellular network or a GPS transmitter. After unauthorized entry into the car, i.e. without disabling the alarm or positioning system, it turns on and sends a signal to the monitoring center. This allows you to track where the car is going because the signals are sent all the time. In the case of radio or GPS positioning, the monitor immediately sees the route of the car, if the system uses a cellular network, the operator's mediation is necessary. The modules responsible for the operation of the system are usually installed in several places in the car, which makes it difficult for a thief to find them. However, he may use devices that interfere with the transmitters.
