Alfa Romeo Spider 2.4 JTDm

The body has been known for at least half a year; The Brera coupe, a sinfully beautiful and aggressive car, took off from the top and turned into a Spider, a two-seater convertible, also sinfully beautiful and aggressive. The engine is also well known: it's a five-cylinder common rail inline turbodiesel that's been tweaked a bit to fit in this body - many mechanical and electronic improvements result in quieter operation (especially when warmed up). engine up to operating temperature), torque is lower, rpm is higher (90 percent between 1.750 and 3.500 rpm), and the operation is generally quieter and quieter regardless of the mode of operation.

New motor electronics program, less internal friction (especially around the camshaft), more efficient charge air cooler (intercooler), modified EGR check valve mode, new oil and water pump, additional oil cooler, injection pressures up to 1.600 bar and new settings turbocharger.

With this engine, the Spider fills the gap between the two petrol engines that are still the heart of a true sports car, but the new combination still seems to be the best; already thanks to the significantly lower standard fuel consumption and also thanks to the high engine torque which allows idling with the six-speed manual transmission.

That's why it seems so sinful - Alfa Spider has an engine with this turbodiesel, which makes it even more attractive. Italians and Germans can already buy it, others buy it in the summer along with both petrol engines.

Also Selespeed

At the same time, the Brera and Spider also received the option of a new generation of the Selespeed robotic six-speed transmission. In both cases, it will be available in conjunction with a 2-liter JTS petrol engine, and manual shifting is possible using the gear lever or levers on the steering wheel. An additional button for the sport program reduces switching times by about 2 percent.
