Alcoholic blocking of the car, or how to drive a car after losing a driver's license?

A driver deprived of a driver's license finds himself in a very difficult situation every day, especially when his finances depend on a driver's license. However, you can avoid the consequences of taking a driver's license from the headman and continue driving. Alcohol lockout - because it is possible - is only allowed after a certain period of time after the driver's license has been revoked. This is much more profitable than sitting behind the wheel without a license and exposing yourself to even greater consequences.

What is alcohol blocking?

Simply put, this is a device that allows the driver to drive a car with certain restrictions. Such a device is placed in the vehicle, and before turning on the ignition, the driver must blow into a certain part of the kit. At this point, he is subjected to a breath alcohol test. If the concentration does not exceed 0,1 ppm, the engine will start normally. If the specified limit is exceeded, the ignition will not respond to turning the key. While an alcohol lockdown may seem like a big hurdle, it allows you to get back to driving faster.

Alcohol blocking - how does the provision for its installation work?

Deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle is not a final sentence. Although there is no chance that the sentence will be completely dropped, it can be reduced. A driver who is no longer eligible due to drunk driving or under the influence of alcohol can apply for a license to block while intoxicated. The condition is to serve half the term in the form of deprivation of a driver's license. Half or how much?

Alcohol Lockout - Rules Regarding Drunk Driving

There are two degrees of the effect of alcohol on the driver, i.e. driving:

● after drinking alcohol (0,1-0,25 ppm);

● in a state of alcoholic intoxication (from 0,25 ppm).

In the first case, a person driving a vehicle is punished with deprivation of a driver's license for a period of 6 months to 3 years. In addition, he also receives 10 penalty points and is subject to a fine of up to PLN 5.

Drunk driving fines

A driver who decides to drive a car when he has more than 0,25 ppm in his exhaled air or 0,5 ppm in his blood runs the risk of losing his license for a period of 1 to 15 years! However, that's not all, as he is also charged with a monetary fine ranging from PLN 5 to PLN 60 for the Victim Assistance and Post-Penitentiary Assistance Fund. In addition, he is threatened with restriction or imprisonment. You see that there is no point in getting behind the wheel of a car, even if you are slightly intoxicated.

How to write an application for alcohol blocking?

Of course, after serving half the term in the case of a temporary ban on driving or after 10 years in the case of a lifetime ban, an application must be submitted. You need to go to the district court and apply to change the driving ban to a driving ban only for those who do not have an alcohol block. Arguments must be supported by the following applications:

● justification of the reason for lifting part of the driving ban;

● opinion from the workplace;

● a certificate of no criminal record (of course, before you were punished for drunk driving);

● confirmation of participation in public life.

After submitting the appropriate application, you just have to wait. The court can grant your application and make a positive decision, which will certainly allow you to return to normal life. What to do then?

Alcohol castle - rent or buy?

After obtaining an alcohol-locked driving permit, it is still necessary to install an alcohol-locked device in the vehicle. You can do this in several ways. First of all, we are talking about a rental that will pay off especially for drivers who do not have much time left to restore their full rights. Typically, the cost of such a blockade is several tens of zlotys per month. Most often you can find prices from 6 euros and above.

Alcohol lock in the car - price

The second way is to buy such a system and device in the property, and this makes sense, especially when the amount of monthly rental costs exceeds the purchase price. So it makes sense that this would be useful for longer sentences for drunk driving or after a life ban. Here it is necessary to take into account the cost of more than 150 euros. And that's not all, because renting or buying is just the beginning. You still need to install such a device, which costs at least a few hundred PLN. Now you know how much an alcohol lock costs, but for the full picture, look for special deals for your car.

Alcohol lock in car and liaison department and review

Here you still have one more thing to do, and one of them is to go to the local transport department. You must amend your driver's license to state that you can drive alcohol-locked vehicles. If you decide to rent or buy such a restriction for your vehicle, you need to go to the inspection point and pass its inspection. The cost should not exceed 5 euros.

Where to buy an alcohol lock for a car?

There are many "alcolock for sale" offers on the market. They concern both the equipment itself and complex services with verification and assembly. You can also find two types of devices - designed to "shorten" the fine and self-assembly, for example, to control the driver in the company or for their own safety. In the event of a court order, alcohol interlocks that do not require calibration cannot be used, as the Department of Communications will require documents from the installation carried out by a qualified workshop. Therefore, "arbitrariness" in the case of a court decision is not an option.

Is alcohol blocking necessary?

It's true that an alcohol lockout in a car comes at a dizzying price, but it may be necessary in some cases. For people practicing their profession on the basis of a driver's license, this is practically the only way to return to work. Others, on the contrary, are the only ones in the family who can drive a car, and at the moment of deprivation of a driver's license, the whole house is "paralyzed" by lack of mobility. Of course, this is not the fault of the Legislator, but of the person who decided to violate obvious and reasonable restrictions.

Disqualification hurts not only because of the forced stoppage or spending large sums on alcohol blocking. The insurer will also not be too kind to you and will still require you to pay premiums on the OC policy. He is not interested in the fact that the car is parked for several months or several years. With all of this in mind, it's a good idea to think twice about when you drink alcohol.
