Do-it-yourself anti-rain for a car
Many drivers face the problem of wet windows and “splashing” with dirt. The problem is mainly related to the weather conditions outside - sleet or rain. Precipitation generally adversely affects driving conditions - drops fall on the glass surface, which greatly worsen the percentage of road visibility. The problem is especially relevant in heavy rains, when the wipers do not have time to cope with the task.
Poor visibility of the road due to dirty glass increases the accident rate when driving a car several times. The driver is forced to more closely monitor the road and reduce the speed to a minimum. To simplify the ride during bad weather, a special preparation was developed - anti-rain.
The tool works according to the following scheme: it is applied to the windshield, rubbed, and then repels water and mud drops from the surface. The main disadvantage of such a tool is its high cost. It is the price that makes motorists refuse to buy.
There is a way out of this situation - making an anti-rain agent with your own hands. It uses simple ingredients that you most likely have at home.

How does the remedy work
Anti-rain - a special tool that protects the vehicle from raindrops and dirt. When applied, a special protective layer is formed on the surface, which has unique liquid-repellent qualities. Store funds that really help cost more than 500 rubles, cheaper analogues basically only lure the buyer with promises, but they have no effect, and at best they are enough for one trip in the rain.
If drops of rain or dirt with water fall on a surface that has been treated with a good preparation, a repulsive effect occurs. Droplets do not linger on the surface, they flow down and improve the visibility of the windshield during adverse weather conditions.
Anti-rain, applied to the body or glass, rolls any liquid into small balls. If the vehicle is at rest, the drops quickly roll down. During movement, under the action of the force of the oncoming wind, the drops scatter to the side. The main advantage of such a tool is that it does not affect road safety, does not harm glass and paintwork, and does not impair visibility through the windshield.

Antirain: recipes
A tool made from improvised means will cost less than a store counterpart, while it will not be inferior in terms of water-repellent characteristics.
It is necessary to make the drug, starting from its features and characteristics. The composition must include components that have water-repellent characteristics.
Anti-rain can be prepared from paraffin, fabric softener, building silicone and other components.
From paraffin
The most common anti-rain remedy for cooking requires the following ingredients:
- Regular paraffin candle - 10 g;
- White spirit solvent - 100 g (follow the safety rules when working with the product, as it ignites quickly);
- Non-woven napkin, which will help to apply the product on the glass and the body (ordinary cotton pads will do).
The cooking process includes the following steps:
- We rub a small paraffin candle on a fine grater and place it in a container.
- Here we fill in the specified amount of solvent.
- Thoroughly mix the mixture until the paraffin chips are completely dissolved and the product becomes a homogeneous consistency.
- Using a cloth, apply the product to the desired surface.
- We wait a while and wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
Such a simple composition absolutely does not harm the paintwork and glass, while it contributes to the process of repelling dirt and water from the treated surface. Another advantage of such a tool is that even in dry weather, dirt and dust adhere worse to the treated surface.

From Lenore fabric softener
To prepare the second product, you will need a regular rinse aid (fabric conditioner). We will consider the process of preparing a product based on Lenora. This conditioner gives a strong effect compared to cheaper products.
To prepare the remedy you will need:
- 1 cap "Lenora";
- Distilled water;
- Empty mixing bottle.
To make the “anti-rain” agent from the rinse aid, you should:
- Pour one cap of Lenora into an empty bottle;
- Add 3-4 liters of water;
- To stir thoroughly;
- Pour the product into the wiper reservoir (it must first be cleaned of other products);
- We spray the glass with nozzles.
The "anti-rain" from "Lenora" has a small drawback: a bluish film forms on the windshield. At night, the film is almost invisible, but during the day it can impair visibility.
In order to avoid film and other stains, you need to use good glass cleaning brushes that fit snugly against the glass surface.
It is important! Wash the windshield thoroughly before applying the product. Degrease it and wipe dry. If this rule is observed, the effect of water repulsion is much better.

Based on building sealant
Another unusual tool that perfectly copes with the task of repelling liquid from the surface of the glass and the body is prepared on the basis of building sealant (silicone).
For preparation it will be required:
- 50 g of White Spirit solvent;
- A teaspoon of building sealant (preferably neutral);
- Container for mixing components (it is convenient to do in an ordinary plastic bottle).
The cooking process includes the following steps:
- Pour the indicated amount of solvent into a plastic bottle;
- We squeeze out the sealant;
- Mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mixture is formed.
It is most convenient to apply the product with a sprayer. After application, wipe the surface thoroughly with a dry cloth. The product does not leave streaks and marks, while it perfectly protects the body and glass from water and dirt.

How to properly apply the product on glass
The effectiveness of homemade "anti-rain" directly depends on the preliminary preparation of the surface. At the initial stage, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the glass from various contaminants. To do this, we adhere to the following sequence of actions:
- Thoroughly wash the entire car with car shampoo and running water;
- We apply a detergent on the glass, which contains ammonia;
- We rub the surface to a transparent state without smudges and streaks. Do not forget to process recesses and corners;
- Let the glass dry
- We apply the prepared anti-rain agent.
Keep in mind that windshields are susceptible to chips and cracks. For washing and applying the product, do not use too hard sponges and rags. The best option would be cotton pads or a special cleaning sponge that does not scratch the surface.
We wait until the applied “anti-rain” dries a little, and begin to polish the surface until it becomes completely transparent. With Lenore, you just need to spray the glass with nozzles and wipe it with windshield wipers.
Remember that the "anti-rain" agent, which we learned to prepare from affordable and inexpensive components, can be used not only for application to the windshield. The drug is suitable for processing the body. The effect on such a surface will be similar - dirt and water will repel and roll off easily. As a result, you will significantly save on a car wash after a rain.
To apply the product you need:
- Wash and dry the car body;
- Spray the product on the surface of the entire body;
- Thoroughly rub the product with dry wipes and cotton pads.
Applying the agent to the body is a rather time-consuming process, requiring careful processing of all surfaces in order to achieve greater efficiency. At the same time, you will reliably protect the car from rain and dirt - the car will always shine with perfect cleanliness.
Already after the first use of home-made means to protect cars from rain, you will be convinced of their effectiveness - the preparations allow you to keep the car clean for a long time, and even during heavy rain, the windshield will always be cleared of raindrops, and driving a car will become safe.
Homemade products are quite popular with motorists due to their efficiency and low price, and they also do not require special skills for manufacturing and application. All components of a home "anti-rain" can be purchased at any hardware store.
