Aptera Motors has begun taking orders for its vision of the car of the future. The Aptera tricycle, which features a large solar-powered rooftop, promises 400 kilometers of battery life and a free 25-60 kilometers per day in sunny locations.

So it can end up in places with sufficient sunshine. Adapters do not need to [almost] ever be plugged into a wall outlet to recharge the battery.... Well, the car could move even where there is no electricity at all!

Installed in the chassis ENGINE offers 100 kW (136 HP) power with front-wheel drive or 150 kW (204 hp) with all-wheel drive, which allows acceleration to 97 km / h (0-60 mph) in 5,5 or 3,5 seconds, respectively. Substantial power and good acceleration for a thick shell that protects passengers. Thin wheels outside the body structure can increase stability or reduce drag, but missing them during a potential collision can be dangerous.

Power consumption while driving, it is supposed to reach OK. 6,3 kWh / 100 km, battery capacity в 25 kWh in the basic version, and in the future also 40, 60 or 100 kWh. With the latest batteries, the manufacturer even promises 1 (!) Kilometers of range per charge.

Aptera it is available for pre-order in the US (source). Price begin with $ 25,9 thousandwhich is the net equivalent of PLN 95, PLN 117 thousand gross. So we're dealing with a two-wheeled tricycle with a cab that costs the same as a cheaper electric or Triggo [estimated by www.elektrowoz.pl]. However, unlike Triggo, Aptera gives the impression of a more comfortable car - and charges itself.

Minuses? First of all, Aptera Motors has a working prototype but hasn't released a single car for sale yet. Thus, the startup is more advanced than Izera - and has reached the prototype stage for less than ElectroMobility Poland, although it operates in the United States! – however, he only offers visions, pictures, good recordings, and a mass-produced prototype for sale.

The second drawback is less, but it can be decisive in the daily operation of the car. Well, in none of the recordings did we see the Aptera's wheels turn more than a dozen degrees. Therefore, it is possible that this "ideal vehicle for the city" will be more difficult to maneuver in this city than a large van.
