Aston Martin DBX - this should be the brand's best-selling model!

The fashion for SUVs does not subside and you will not surprise anyone with the “off-road” Lambo or Bentley. Another island brand also wants to steal a piece of the pie - Aston Martin. Work related to the DBX model is about to end, a campaign has started to advertise new items from Gaydon. Aston with yours DBX-in was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, and the first orders for the brand's new SUV could be placed at the Pebble Beach Contest of Elegance on August 18 in California.

Aston Martin began production of pre-series versions of the model at a new facility in St. Athan, Wales, earlier this year. Aston authorities have said they plan to start series production in the second quarter of 2020, assuming first deliveries will be made in a few months. The new plant in Wales, which has been under development since 2016, covers an area of 90 hectares and is built on the site of the former Ministry of Defense. St. Athan will be the only production site for the SUV. Aston Martin.

Aston Martin DBX at the Pirelli test site in Sweden

Earlier this year, a video was released showing the work on the DBX at Pirelli's Swedish test site in Flurheden.

– Testing prototypes in cold conditions helps us evaluate early vehicle dynamics and, most importantly, ensure driving confidence on low grip surfaces – said Matt Becker, chief engineer of Aston Martin.

Aston Martin announces that it will conduct tests in the Middle East and Germany using local motorways and the Nürburgring.

Aston Martin DBX is designed to attract the attention of women.

The engine that will power the first iteration of the DBX is an AMG 4-litre V8 with dual processing. The predicted power is likely to be about the same as the DB11, i.e. 500 hp. The car is expected to play a key role in attracting female customers to the manufacturer's showrooms.

The previously mentioned AMG V- is just the start of a planned engine lineup. Aston's first SUV. Luckily, the British brand hasn't forgotten about the V12 motorcycle to be added to the offer, and a hybrid version is also planned, which will be based on Mercedes technologies. Daimler will also donate its electronic architecture, but it will be used to assemble the aforementioned "electrics". There are plans to build a sedan and an all-electric SUV, and they are said to be vehicles bearing the "Lagonda" name. DBX will play an important role in the production of new models under the winged logo - the first electric Astras will be built on the components of the presented car.

DBX should be the best-selling Aston Martin

The obvious competition for Aston Martin DBX there will be other "British" cars: the Bentley Bentayga and the Rolls-Royce Culinnan, as well as the Lamborghini Urus and the upcoming Ferrari SUV. The attractiveness of this segment and the huge interest in it make the Gaydon brand expect to become the top selling brand. Aston Martin. I have nothing to do with SUVs, but it's a bit unfortunate that such unique brands are chasing profits to produce this type of vehicle. Even 10-15 years ago, the idea of an off-road Lambo or Ferrari would have been impossible.

However, this is not surprising. All the signs in the sky are that the SUV will sell well, and even before the moment. Aston Martin there were problems with profitability. The producer is looking for money, and I think he found it. Optimism in the company is allegedly very high, the authorities say that DBX this will not only improve the financial situation, but will also create such a large model offer that Aston did not have before.

Despite my mild distaste for turning everything I can into SUVs, I must admit that the line DBX-а promises to be good, unlike the Urus or the Bentayga, it doesn't seem like a huge block, it's quite neat. It has a lot of Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Jaguar SUVs, although of course we are talking about a different class, but the shapes and proportions are actually similar.

It remains to wait for further news about the new model Aston, soon the premiere - let's see if the manufacturer from Gaydon really “checks off” all the goals that he set for himself when designing this model. I hope so. No one likes the problems of such a legend.
