Audi A6 C6 - Premium gets cheaper

Audi has been making cars that are hard to fault for a long time. At least like new. They say that troubles come in pairs, but in the Volkswagen concern they actually go in a herd, because one design flaw spreads to many models of different brands, due to common components. As a result, the situation often changes in the case of used cars. However, it is enough to know how to buy in order to buy a good car in front of the house that will not cause big problems. What is Audi A6 C6?

The Audi A6 C6 is the perfect car for people who equate Mercedes with a midlife crisis, see BMW as a cheap promotion, and have an aversion to other brands. The question is why the A6 model and not some other? You really have to be born with the desire to own this type of car. For a large number of people, a length of almost 5m is tantamount to unnecessary transport of air behind their backs and they choose something like a neat A4 or a compact A3. The flagship A8 is a bit bulky, complex, expensive and a bit too aluminum so not everyone will swallow this car's maintenance. On the other hand, upgraded SUVs are a lifestyle - you should enjoy it. And the Audi A6? More upmarket than most road cars, only the hood and fenders are aluminum rather than the entire body, and the price is more affordable than the mighty A8. The A6 is just such a gateway to the high-end world. The only problem is that people who can't afford it often try to get to that shelf.

The price range for the Audi A6 of this generation is huge. The cheapest copies can be purchased for less than 40 thousand. zł, and the most expensive ones exceed 100 thousand. This is due to the year and facelift of the car, as well as the technical condition - and with it it's just different. Many people dream of a decent Audi so much that when it comes time for a service after a purchase, they only remember the lack of cash in the account - after all, everything went to the car. It just so happened that the design of the A6 is not the simplest. Both the front and rear suspension are multi-link, which is already standard for cars in this class. In addition, rather expensive aluminum is used in the construction. Electronics can be unreliable too, and one look at the interior is enough to quickly conclude that planes aren't much less computerized. Malfunctions in electronics are sometimes difficult to detect, and minor equipment malfunctions should not surprise anyone - control of power windows, sunroof and other devices occurs especially in older models. A similar theme with LED lighting - LEDs had to survive the disappearance of plants from the earth's surface, but in the meantime they burn out and usually you have to change the entire lamp for a lot of money. However, you definitely need to be careful with engines.

Audi captivates with its technological capabilities, but the high price of a car does not always go hand in hand with premium mechanics. One way or another, sometimes small and cheap cars turn out to be more reliable than luxury cruisers, because they have a simpler design, proven solutions and are not an experimental object for IT specialists. In the case of the Volkswagen concern, a problem quickly arose with gasoline engines with direct injection - they can be recognized by the FSI marking. They collected carbon deposits and even 100 thousand. km the engine may need to be cleaned because the engine light comes on. In the case of the supercharged TFSI, incorrect timing was sometimes problematic. However, their flexibility is great, and they are ideal for this car - the weakest 2.0 TFSI 170KM can be a lot of fun, readily responds to driver commands and provides reasonable dynamics. The more powerful 3.0 TFSI gently enters the world of sports - 290 km is a lot even for such a large car. Older 2.4-liter 177-km or 4.2-liter 335-km bikes, on the other hand, are simple and durable, although they develop power more slowly and softly. In addition, the range of Audi units is extremely innovative, which is why they are a certain minority in it. In addition, minor hardware failures, including manifold flap failures, are to be expected on all engines. Among diesels, you need to beware of 2.0TDI, especially the first years of production - not only is it weak for this car, especially in the 140-horsepower version, it can also ruin your wallet. The engine initially had problems mainly with the head ratchet and oil pump, which suddenly led to jamming. Later the design was improved. The 2.7 TDI and 3.0 TDI engines are definitely better, although in their case it is also better to look for newer versions - the old ones had problems with the wrong fuel mixture and holes were burned in the pistons. The maintenance of these engines is also expensive - if only because of the location of the timing on the side of the gearbox. So probably the worst place ever. Replacement is very expensive, and the disk itself, unfortunately, is not very durable. But the 2.7 TDI and 3.0 TDI provide good dynamics, work delicately, have a pleasant sound and willingly accelerate. Perfect for car like A6 on the road.

In the eyes of some, buying luxury cars is akin to getting a master's degree in our country - thanks to it, a person simply becomes an educated unemployed and there is no point in fighting for it. Just like buying an Audi A6. However, a piece of paper from the university itself can come in handy in life, and you can rejoice from the Audi A6 - you just have to drive on it to change your mind. Inside, it's hard to find fault with anything - the engine is located in front of the front axle, so there is plenty of space both in front and behind, and the capacity of the trunk is in the first place in this segment. 555L is the volume of a decent Jacuzzi. However, the German limousine convinces otherwise.

The perfect fit of body elements and excellent materials in the cabin are the hallmark of this brand. Added to this is the optional quattro all-wheel drive and a perfectly tuned multi-link suspension. You practically don’t feel small bumps on the road in the car, because it flows around them. You can afford a lot in corners, and in combination with quattro, many even doubt the existence of gravity. Many versions also have an automatic transmission - Multitronic is admittedly notorious and has terrible repair prices, so it's best to opt for the tiptronic found in all-wheel drive variants. Compared to competitors, it is not the most durable, but always something. As for equipment, there is a lot of electronics, on top of which is the MMI multimedia system. Not as advanced as BMW's iDrive, but it will put most people off with its powerful capabilities. The MMI manual alone can kill someone by throwing them off the top floor of a building. For dessert, there are plenty of body options - from the standard sedan and station wagon, through the off-road Allroad and ending with the sporty S6 and RS6. No wonder there are so many copies of this car on our roads - everyone will find something for themselves.

In the case of the Audi A6 C6, the main problem is that it is increasingly used by people who cannot afford this model. And to restore such an instance to a decent condition, you need a lot of money. The main thing is to hit well - the A6 will certainly repay the best in Audi.
