Audi unveils electric longboard in Beijing
At the Beijing Auto Show, Audi unveiled the concept of an electric longboard integrated into its Q3 SUV. Objective: To offer the vehicle a complementary mobility solution for the last mile.
Integrated in the rear bumper
Defined as the concept of intermodal mobility, Audi's electric longboard is a tool to cover the last mile instead of walking.
105 centimeters long and made of aluminum and carbon fiber, it is elegantly installed in the rear bumper in a box-like location. In terms of performance, Audi's electric longboard can cover 12 kilometers at a top speed of around 30 km / h.
There are three driving modes available when using:
- scooter mode with the presence of a steering wheel, which allows, like the Segway, to change the speed
- fashion sports without steering wheel, where speed control is carried out via a smartphone
- type of transport where the car automatically follows the user, communicating with his smartphone when transporting a package or suitcase.
It remains to be seen whether this electric longboard from Audi will remain as a concept, or whether it will one day combine the manufacturer's concessions as an accessory for certain vehicles. The case should be continued ...
