Audi RS Q5 will receive a 2,9-liter V6 rated at 450 hp

An Audi spokesman admitted that the company is developing a new generation of RS Q5, which will be the most powerful version of the mid-size crossover. However, it is not yet clear when this car will appear in the range of the brand.

Rumors about the development of the updated Audi RS Q5 have been circulating on the Internet since 04.2015, but it’s already 20th in the yard, and there are no signs of a new one. Currently, the SQ5 is the most pumped crossover model. But with the advent of the RS modification, everything will change.

Asked how soon we'll see the big guy, the Q5, one of the top executives in Audi's crossover engineering department, Michael Crusius, said:

"The appearance of the RS Q5 is a very broad question, but at the moment there is no way to reveal any details."

According to the publication, the "bloated" crossover will be presented in 2021, having received a 2,9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. The power of the unit is expected to be 450 hp. Of course, by the end of this year, Audi will show the Q5 Sportback coupe. Such a model will have to compete with the BMW X4 M, so it will have to purchase more effective versions of the SQ5 and RS5.
