Audi S6: biturbo and low consumption – Sports cars

Lately Audi he releases so many versions that it seems like a new one comes in every week, and it is often not hard to know which one comes next.

We have already seen S8 with the new V8 biturbo Audi / Bentley 4-liter (520 hp version on Audi and 500 on Continental V8) and debuted the new A6 last year.

The old model was powered by a 435-horsepower V10 version of the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo, but this time, due to strict emission reduction regulations that had to be followed, it was impossible to replicate.

That's why new S6 mounts a V8 that allows it to lower consumption Discount 25 percent. It has "only" 420 hp to make way for the future. RS6, and drops them to the ground through four-wheel drive – 60% of the power is distributed to the rear, but can be increased to 80% if necessary – 0-100 decoupling in 4,6 seconds. Not bad.

There is a lot of fun for geeks with a whole host of optionsAudi Drive Select which change the response of the accelerator, the stiffness of the springs and active shock absorbers, the weight steeringspeed DCT up to seven gears and behavior rear differential Sport and del Dynamic steering optional (speeds up steering response).

Hood, rear and doors in aluminum, but the S6 - sedan or Avant - still weighs almost two tons. And, in spite of all the systems and controls it is equipped with, its size and dimensions are therefore necessary to use the beautiful wide and open roads in order to properly use its qualities. At this point, it turns out that the S6 seems to be less fast than it is, mainly due to the very quiet cabin and delivery couple very linear, but less emphatic in bass than the Bentley.

The S6 comes across as a synthetic video game machine, which isn't entirely convincing. There is nothing wrong with the handling, in fact it is much better than the S5, yeah Auto settings e dynamic from Drive Select are ideal for relaxed travel at cruising speed. Mode Comfort instead, it is almost never used, let alone Individual, which allows you to tweak the parameters, but is actually useless. It's hard to figure out exactly what the S6 does, and figuring it out isn't particularly fun.

If I can give you advice, it's best to avoid Dynamic steering which makes the front more nervous. IN sound then this is not the best: it seems to be a fake. Not to mention, the stereo system emits a sound wave that blocks out any other noise coming from the outside so that you don't hear a single note from the engine. You won't even notice when it switches in V4 configuration.

Sure, it's hard to fall in love with, but the S6 bow has a lot of arrows.
