Audi selects TomTom and AutoNavi in ​​China

TomTom (TOM2) and AutoNavi announced a partnership with Audi in China to integrate real-time traffic information with the German manufacturer's vehicles.

China has been the fastest growing automotive market in the world for many years. Traffic creates a serious problem there, especially in densely populated urban areas. Efforts to reduce traffic congestion, such as restricting new vehicle registrations or building new roads, are not helping.

“Partnering with Audi in China is an important step in our growth strategy. Navigation is one of the most frequently asked questions by new car buyers. Real-time traffic information from TomTom helps drivers get to their destination faster. They will also help reduce congestion on Chinese roads,” said Ralf-Peter Schäfer, Head of Traffic at TomTom.

TomTom and AutoNavi will initially provide traffic information services for the Audi A3.
