emergency vehicles Are emergency vehicles safe? Many people have doubts about this. However, according to analyzes carried out in Germany, if a car has been properly repaired, it is just as safe as a new car.

emergency vehicles A storm erupted in our western neighbors after the experts from Gissen decided to scientifically prove that the spar of a car that once had an accident and was repaired would not properly protect the car after a second collision. Insurance companies disagreed with this opinion. Many of their customers, in the event of a more serious breakdown, do not want to repair their cars, but demand that they be replaced with new ones.

New and old in the barrier

Sparing no expense, Allianz decided to refute the thesis of Giessen specialists. A Mercedes C-class, a Volkswagen Bora and 2 Volkswagen Golf IVs were selected for the test. At a speed of 15 km / h, the cars crashed into a rigid barrier, which was set so that only 40% could crash into it. a car. The cars were then repaired and crash tested again. The engineers decided to test the difference between the collision of a factory car and a refurbished car. It turned out that both machines behave the same way.

Cheap or whatever

Volkswagen decided to conduct a similar study. He crash-tested cars at 56 km/h, which is the speed required by European standards. The designers came to the same conclusions as the representatives of Allianz - in the event of a repeated collision, it does not matter whether the car was repaired.

However, Volkswagen has set itself another challenge. Well, he crashed the car in a typical crash test and had it repaired at a private auto repair shop. Such a broken car was subjected to a repeated crash test. It turned out that a car repaired in this way does not guarantee the level of safety expected by the manufacturer. With the so-called Due to cheap repairs, the deformed parts of the car were not replaced, but straightened out. When replacing parts with new ones, not original new components were inserted, but old ones from a landfill. During the collision, the deformation zone shifted several centimeters towards the passenger compartment, which jeopardized the safety of passengers.

The conclusion from these experiments is simple. Cars, even after a serious accident, can be restored in such a way as to guarantee the same body rigidity as in the case of a new car. However, only an authorized service can do this. It is a pity that Polish insurance companies do not realize this and send their clients to the cheapest workshops. In the next collision, they will have to pay more compensation, because the consequences of the accident will be more serious.
