The Aisin AW4-70LE 40-speed automatic transmission was assembled from the late 80s until 2001 and was installed on the front-wheel drive GEO or Chevrolet Prism models that were popular at the time. This transmission in its design practically does not differ from the well-known automatic transmission A240.
The AW70 family also includes gearboxes: AW72‑42LE and AW73‑41LS.
