The Jatko JF4E or RE403F4A 04-speed automatic transmission has been produced since 1990 and is installed on large sedans with engines up to 3.0 liters and 290 Nm of torque. On Mazda vehicles, this transmission carries its own LJ4A-EL index.
The third generation 4-automatic transmission also includes: JF402E, JF404E, JF405E and JF414E.

Clutch wear products are carried by grease along the box, clogging everything around
Clogged valve body solenoids cause jolts and jerks when shifting
A leaking pump seal is a sign of torque converter lockup wear.
Due to oil starvation, it quickly cuts the splines of the rear planetary gear set
