In 2010, a new 4-speed automatic transmission appeared with the RE4F03C index according to the Nissan nomenclature, but in its essence it was only a modernization of the 4 RE03F1989A automatic transmission. This box was intended for significantly less powerful engines than its predecessor, and therefore Japanese engineers managed to make it a little lighter, more compact and much cheaper.
The hydromechanical machine, classical in design, has 4 fixed gears and a couple of additional modes: movement only in first and only in first or second gear. Torque from the power unit to the automatic transmission is transmitted using a torque converter. All design features are described in detail in the company's user manual.

This is a very reliable machine with a decent resource, but in the boxes of the first years of production, needle bearings flew between the pump hub and the High drum very often. A little less often, the service was contacted to replace the central double-row bearing.
The weak point of the box is the control unit, which is located above the front fender liner and suffers from moisture. Also, the electrician often burns during lighting. The brake pedal sensor also fails, which leads to blocking of the shift knob.
After 100 km, it is recommended to install an external filter, since by such a mileage there is already a lot of dirt in the lubricant from friction wear and it can clog the valve body channels.
