In 2000, Jatco introduced a 5-speed automatic for rear-wheel drive / four-wheel drive cars. The new box was made on the basis of the old RE4R4A 03-automatic transmission, which received an Overdrive planet and a more modern electronically controlled valve body. The transmission was designed for high torque and was aggregated with powerful engines up to a V8 of 5.6 liters.
