Automatic transmission. How to recognize failure?

Automatic transmission. How to recognize failure? There are more and more satisfied users of cars with automatic transmission. They are especially preferred by women. Although automatic transmissions have many advantages, their repair cost is higher than manual transmissions. In case of improper maintenance and operation, they can be even more emergency.

Caring for the car and following the manufacturer's recommendations allows you to drive the next few kilometers, enjoying the comfortable use of it. However, even the most well-maintained cars can break down - the first sign of it can be the smell of burning in the cabin. While not the same as a transmission failure, it can be assumed that the transmission oil is too hot. This situation can be caused by too low a level or too long operation, which leads to a loss, for example, of the lubricating properties of the oil. Poorly selected oil can also be a factor that can lead to overheating. In the manual for each car with an automatic transmission, you will find information about the recommended type of oil. To maintain the transmission in good condition, follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

We have noticed that women are increasingly willing to use cars with automatic transmission. This choice has many advantages, but although little is said about it, it is very important to change the oil in such a box. This will allow him to work longer without failures. Women are demanding of drivers and like to feel confident in their cars. By following the recommendations of the manufacturer of automatic transmission vehicles and taking care of regular oil changes, they will be able to enjoy increased driving comfort and a sense of security. It is also important that they can quickly diagnose alarming symptoms that may indicate a possible failure, which will avoid many problems.

Automatic transmission. These signals are not to be taken lightly.

One of the most common causes of failure in properly maintained automatic transmissions is oil leakage, which can be caused by mechanical damage to the case or seal damage. Transmission oil circulates in a closed cycle and does not partially burn out like engine oil. If the leak is small, it may go unnoticed for a long time, but over time it can completely destroy the transmission. If the gearbox is not working properly and there is a visible leak, the car cannot be started. You should call for help and it is best to take the car on a tow truck to a car repair shop, where they will eliminate the cause of the leak and fill in gear oil.

Both with dynamic and with a quiet ride, gear changes should be smooth. If this is not the case and the driver notices unpleasant jolts, gear changes or too abrupt shifts, the oil may have been used up and no longer maintain the parameters or the transmission itself is damaged. At this stage, it is difficult to diagnose what exactly happened, but you should refrain from driving for a long time and arrange a visit to the workshop as soon as possible. Otherwise, the problem will worsen, and repairs can be much more expensive.

When the warning light comes on to inform the driver of an engine problem, it may also indicate problems with the transmission. In such a situation, a diagnostic kit is indispensable, which, when connected to the car, detects malfunctions. From this data, the mechanic can tell if there is a problem with the transmission or if the light is on for some other reason.

Automatic transmission. Regular control

Although it is possible to drive a car with a torn box, you should not wait for the symptoms of a breakdown to worsen, leading to a complete immobility of the box. The sooner a malfunction is diagnosed, the greater the chance of a lower repair cost. That is why regular inspections and careful monitoring of your car are so important.
