Automatic sequential transmission

It is not in itself an active safety system, it becomes such when it is integrated with traction control and / or ESP devices; as a safety system, it is only the adaptive automatic transmission option, which allows manual control of gear changes, partially enabling the automatic transmission.

Automatic sequential transmission

Thus, it is the automatic transmission used by Porsche, BMW (which calls it Steptronic) and Audi (which calls it Tiptronic), equipped with particularly sophisticated control electronics. It can be used as an automatic transmission or as a sequential transmission, simply by moving the selector lever along the grid next to the normal one; depending on each impulse on the lever (forward or backward), upshifts or downshifts are achieved.
