Automatic cross laser EL 601

In our workshop we test more and more new tools. Their producers never seem to sleep. Here we find the automatic cross laser in a blue, robust, compact transport case. This time our standard floating bubble level will be overthrown and replaced by the state of the art auto cross laser geo-FENNEL.

You should know that geo-FENNEL is a popular and most recognizable specialty measuring instrument brand with a 150 year tradition. In addition to the laser itself, the manufacturer added a crank rack and other necessary equipment. These are glasses for observing the line of the laser beam on the wall and a set of three AAA alkaline batteries, which should be enough for about 12 hours of continuous operation.

Before using the device for the first time, it is worth reading the instructions, because there are some important tips. The laser works with an accuracy of: ± 4 mm at 10 meters, and its self-leveling range is ± 5°. If the permissible tolerance is exceeded, the alarm for exceeding the self-levelling range is activated. The radius is about 20 meters, so it can be used even in large rooms. The lines displayed on the walls are clear, clearly visible, and thanks to them we will have right angles wherever we want.

Now to work. Buildings made of large slabs, contrary to appearances, are neither straight nor perpendicular. When we are going to hang wallpaper ourselves, put wood paneling in the living room or hang cabinets in the kitchen, forget about measuring the distance from the walls, ceiling or floor. The builders try very hard, but then anyway, when the building collapses, he shudders; whether we live in a wooden house or a large-panel skyscraper, when working inside we must use an old-fashioned spirit level or a modern cross laser. The laser will be very useful when building a home kitchen or repairing a built-in shelf. It is also needed when arranging shops or service industries where cabinets, counters and racks are placed. Aligning the first row of ceramic tiles horizontally to a precise line or marking drilled holes for hooks on which to hang cabinets is done quickly and easily with a laser. Ambitious amateur enthusiasts will even cope with the construction of internal walls from drywall.

Metal frames require perpendicular alignment in one plane. The laser moves the levels so that, for example, doors and windows can be precisely aligned. When working on starting up electrical installations, the laser will greatly facilitate the work, because it is important that the grooves for cables, strips, lighting attachment points and for all boxes are aligned and perpendicular to each other. Installations in the form of pipes supplying hot water to radiators and the radiators themselves will also help us position the laser.

The manufacturer gives a 12-month warranty for the correct operation of the purchased device. Remember, however, that in accordance with Polish law, every item purchased is covered by a 2-year warranty. The device should not break down quickly when we take care of it and use what the manufacturer has given us to help. And yes, the rugged case protects the laser during transport. It is especially important to use the compensator lock while driving.

Before we get started, let's not forget to buy 3 spare AAA batteries because the device is useless without electricity. We can safely recommend this modern laser as equipment for our workshop - any work done with it will be accurate and, as a result, will give us a lot of pleasure.

In the competition, you can get this device for 600 points.
