Car navigation. Using abroad can cost you a lot (video)

Charges for using a mobile phone abroad in the European Union are symbolic, and much depends on what kind of data package you have. However, not all countries are in the EU, and the bills for using navigation, not necessarily the one on the phone, can be high.

- After returning from Belarus, I received a terrible phone bill. I turned off Internet roaming at the border, but it turned out that when standing in line, the phone automatically switched to the Belarusian network and hence such a high bill, complains tourist Piotr Sroka.

– The signal from the roaming network from abroad is stronger. Then the phone can switch to such a stronger signal, explains Paweł Słubowski from hadron.pl. To avoid such situations, before crossing the border, you should disable automatic network selection.

All we have to do is spend a holiday close to the Swiss border. A similar situation could happen to us in the Monaco area, which is also not in the EU. We will pay even more than 1 PLN for 30 MB of data.

There is no need to use the phone to incur additional costs. Some cars are equipped with special navigation systems. You should also remember to switch them offline.
