Cars with factory installation of HBO
Some companies offer gas powered models, attracting customers who value low running costs. Autogas is still much cheaper than petrol and diesel
It only takes a simple cost simulation to figure out that driving on a fuel called LPG or autogas is extremely beneficial. Its price is so favorable that the costs associated with the purchase and installation of a basic inexpensive HBO installation in a private garage pay off after a run of 10-000 km. In terms of efficiency, not only gasoline engines, but also turbodiesels, which are considered extremely wallet-friendly for drivers, lose to gas engines.
But is it necessary to buy a car with a conventional fuel supply, and then equip it with a gas supply system? Not at all, because you can take advantage of the offer of factory-made dual-fuel vehicles that run on both gasoline and liquefied gas. The problem of choosing an installation and a workshop is removed, we save time and our car does not have to stop at the service and is immediately ready for operation. However, the gas installation does not always start working from the first kilometers. In some cases, it is activated only after driving 1000 km on gasoline. And most importantly, there are no problems with the warranty, as the manufacturer recommends a specific installation and recognizes its presence in the car. Manufacturers also do not plan additional inspection visits. These are the good sides of the "gas workers" from the factory offer. But there are also disadvantages". We have no influence on the brand of installation and usually you have to pay more for it than for a do-it-yourself installation. We cannot always count on manufacturer's warranty, because some companies do not agree to use LPG.
When deciding to buy a new car with factory installed LPG, we have a lot of choices. Twenty car models may not be a particularly wide range, but in this number we can find representatives of almost all segments. There are small, typical city cars, modest and cheap compacts, more expensive, larger and more exclusive C-segment cars, mid-range models, small and large minivans, station wagons, recreational wagons, and even typical sports hatchbacks. More importantly, the LPG model can be adapted to the size of the wallet. Prices start from PLN 30 and do not exceed PLN 101.
Alfa Romeo
Two models from the Alfa Romeo range are sold with factory installed LPG from the Italian company Landi Renzo. Both the small MiTo and the compact Giulietta have a supercharged 1.4 engine under the hood, redesigned to run on autogas. The head, valves and valve seats are made of appropriate materials, a special suction system and additional nozzles are also used. A toroidal fuel tank is installed in place of the spare wheel. Modifications related to the supply of LPG are manufactured at the plant, the vehicles arrive ready for shipment to customers.
Chevrolet
Gas installations for Chevrolet cars are installed in Poland, after the buyer selects a specific model. However, it is necessary to adapt cars for LPG on the assembly line at the factory. The adaptation costs PLN 290 for Spark and PLN 600 for Orlando. Installation by the Italian company MTM - BRC for Spark costs PLN 3700 and for Orlando - PLN 4190. In the Cruze model, you do not pay for car adaptation, and the installation price of MTM – BRC is PLN 3990.
Dacia
Dacia installs gas installations of the Italian company Landi Renzo at the stage of car production. Finished cars running on liquefied gas arrive in Poland.
Fiat
Fiat provided gas installation only for the Chrysler 3.6 engined Freemont model (Pentastar series). This is a very good idea because this version is quite energy intensive. The average fuel consumption in the city is 16 l / 100 km, in the combined cycle - 11,3 l / 100 km. Refueling with autogas can save you a lot of money. Freemont 3.6 LPG has not yet joined the official Fiat offer
Hyundai
Hyundai offers factory installation of LPG from the Italian company MTM - BRC only in the i20 1.2 model.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi has focused on Polish technical thought and in the Colt 1.3 5d model offers a domestic STAG installation provided by AC SA. The gas supply starts working only after 1000 km, after inspection in the presence of an AC SA specialist
Opel
Opel is one of the magnates in the field of factory gas installations. There are five models with LPG in its lineup, equipped with installations of the Italian company Landi Renzo, installed at the stage of car production. In some models, Opel offers CNG installation, i.e. running on natural gas instead of LPG.
Skoda
Gas installations dedicated to Skoda are being prepared by the Italian company Landi Renzo. These are not only systems called Omegas, prepared for engines 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 with traditional gasoline injection, but also Direct Omega, which allows the use of autogas in engines with direct gasoline injection. This complex solution is unique in the LPG segment and the most expensive offer among gas installations. The price of such a system for the 1.4 TSI engine in Octavia is PLN 5480. The installation cost of Citigo 1.0 is PLN 3500, Fabia 1.4 and Roomster 1.4 is PLN 4650 and Octavia 1.6 is PLN 4850. The gas supply system is installed in Poland at a Skoda dealer.
