Gasoline B-70. Aviation fuel of the last century

Features of the composition and properties

Gasoline B-70 is characterized by:

  • The absence of additive tetraethyl lead, which makes it as safe as possible for the environment.
  • An indicator of the octane number, which facilitates the process of forced ignition.
  • The minimum toxicity of vapors, which does not require the creation of special, very expensive measures for its safe storage.

The composition of the fuel includes saturated hydrocarbons and their isomers, benzene and products of its processing, as well as aromatic alkyl compounds. A small amount of sulfur and resinous substances is allowed, which does not exceed 2,1% in total.

The main properties of aviation gasoline brand B-70:

  1. Density, kg / m3 at room temperature: 750.
  2. Temperature of the beginning of the crystallization process, 0C, not lower: -60.
  3. Octane number: 70.
  4. Saturated vapor pressure, kPa: 50.
  5. Duration of storage without delamination, h, not less: 8.
  6. Color, smell - absent.

Using

Gasoline B-70 was created for the primary use in piston aircraft engines. At present, the share of the practical use of piston aircraft in transportation has significantly decreased. Therefore, the produced gasoline is more used as a universal solvent, this is facilitated by the following qualities:

  • Evaporates quickly from any surface, leaving no stains on it.
  • Low dependence on temperature changes, which remains even at negative temperatures of the outside air.
  • Homogeneity of the chemical composition, allowing long-term storage (subject to the required temperature, relative humidity and good ventilation.

Existing GOSTs for aviation fuel are more responsible for gasolines, which contain anti-knock additives. This does not apply to B-70 gasoline, and its environmental performance is significantly higher than for aviation gasoline of other brands.

Technology of using gasoline B-70 as a solvent

With all its positive qualities, aviation gasoline as a solvent is still recommended to be used very carefully. The reason for this is considered to be an excessive decrease in the moisture content of the skin, a fairly complete infiltration of the components of this fuel into the internal organs. The use of acid resistant rubber gloves is therefore highly recommended. An important limiting factor is the presence of anti-icing additives in gasoline, which act as a mutagen.

The use of B-70 gasoline for cleaning oily contaminants justifies itself only when working with hard-to-reach units of technological equipment, when the high volatility of aviation gasoline helps to quickly deliver it to any place. The effectiveness of the solvent is increased if the viscosity of the oil film to be removed from the surface is reduced. It has been established that, compared with gasolines of similar use (for example, Kalos gasoline, or rather Kallos, after the Hungarian chemist who first proposed this composition for use as a solvent), B-70 more effectively dissolves organic contaminants and requires fewer restrictions on ventilation premises where such work is carried out.

Price per ton

Prices for these products are very unstable, and therefore most suppliers prefer to work on the market in a negotiated price regime. But, in any case, the price depends on the volume of the transaction and the option of packaging products:

  • Packaging in a container with a capacity of 1 liter - from 160 rubles.
  • Packing in barrels of 200 l - 6000 rubles.
  • For wholesale buyers - from 70000 rubles per ton.
