Design inspired by VanMoof

In terms of style, VanMoof will appreciate (or not) inspire Bird's designers. Aesthetically, BirdBike is very (too?) Close to the Dutch manufacturer's electric bicycles.

On the electrical side, the Bird uses a motor supplied by the Chinese Bafang Group. Built into the rear wheel hub, it delivers 500W in the American market. For Europe, it will likely be limited to 250W. For the US market, the speed of the assistant reaches 32 km / h.

The similarities between BirdBike (left) and VanMoof e-bike (right) are striking.

The chassis includes a belt drive, puncture-resistant Kenda tires mounted on 28-inch wheels, as well as a priori single-speed drivetrain.

There is obviously a connection. This way, the bike can be linked to the Bird app to keep track of the battery level and kilometers traveled. Information that can also be found on the LCD screen built into the center of the steering wheel.
