BLIS - Blind Spot Information System

It consists of a surveillance system with a camera installed in the car's rear-view mirrors. The camera monitors vehicles approaching from behind next to a moving vehicle.

This device was first used in the 2001 Volvo Safety Concept Car (SCC) experimental car and later made available for the Volvo S80. It is currently also used on vehicles such as Ford, Lincoln and Mercury.

The device is very similar to the ASA.
