BMW 420d Gran Coupe xDrive

If we say that the 4 Series Gran Coupe is strictly technically just a nicer and more dynamically designed 3 Series, then you probably won't brag about it among successful business associates. But if you turn things around and imply that you're driving a four-door coupe with almost 190 horsepower, all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, then even successful gray-haired gentlemen will do it. start pulling on your ears. And be careful, we are talking about the 420d version, so the second one is the weakest, since there is only 418d left under it!

Interestingly, the Gran Coupe has exactly the same external dimensions as the two-door coupe version. The only difference is in the shape of the rear, where the roof is 12 millimeters taller and 122 millimeters longer, so that passengers can be more comfortable in the backseat (and of course, it is easier to jump in and out of the backseat). ... In other words, the Gran Coupe has a boot capacity of 35 liters, which is 480 liters more than the Volkswagen Golf. The trunk is really shallow, but the dimensions are really impressive, and additional prestige is added by the electric sliding tailgate and the camera in the rear and even on both sides. There will be no long noses.

Frameless doors, where the side windows are electrically sealed with seals after each closure, add a pinch of weirdness, active xenon headlights, 19-inch blank tires, two tailpipe ends and a smart key for prestige. White leather, an M sports steering wheel, active cruise control, a choice of driving programs (Sport, Comfort and ECO PRO) and, of course, an excellent infotainment system in Slovenian not only spoil the driver, but also make him unhappy. The only major gripe with the interior is the front seats, which had a too short seat section, but above all, they were too wide and with few side supports. The engine is overly loud, but it does its job well with the eight-speed automatic transmission. There is more than enough power and torque, and the manual mode circuitry simulates racing, which always pleases athletes. All-wheel drive means skid is eliminated, but the highest hill will be accessible even in snowy conditions – especially with skis that can get stuck inside between the rear seats as the rear bench shifts in a 40:20:40 ratio.

So is it worth it to park around the corner when you negotiate with your successful friends? Not at all, because the 420d Gran Coupe with all-wheel drive is a charming, prestigious and powerful four-door coupe, enough that the key to a glass of a refreshing soft drink does not need to be hidden in your pocket. Unfortunately, the price also proves it. If there are any comments, that's their problem, as they obviously haven't done so yet.
