BMW unveils powerful new XM concept

The BMW XM will be the first high-performance electrified model in the BMW M portfolio. It will be available only as an M Hybrid and production will start at the end of next year.

BMW took advantage of the Art Basel fair in Miami Beach 2021 to present a new vehicle concept. The BMW Concept XM would be the most powerful M model in the history of the manufacturer and its production would start at the end of next year.

This new series production model will be manufactured at the end of 2022 at the BMW Group Spartanburg plant in the United States, which is the most important sales market for the new high-performance vehicle.

The manufacturer offers us a first look at the new BMW Concept XM, in the images we can see the new front design and it continues to reflect the exceptional performance attributes of the car.

The bold Concept XM combines a V8 engine and a high-performance electric motor to develop a maximum output of 550 kW / 750 horsepower (hp) and 737 pound-feet of torque. Thus, this would be BMW M's first electrified vehicle in the high-performance segment and paves the way for the brand's future.

“The BMW Concept The series production car, the first pure BMW M model since the legendary BMW M1, also shows how we are approaching the step-by-step electrification of our brand.”

The interior of the BMW Concept XM features the driver-focused cockpit for which M models are renowned, combined with an entirely new rear compartment design: with its ultra-comfort seats and illuminated, sculptural headlining.

"The design of the BMW Concept XM is an extravagant statement of BMW M at the heart of the luxury segment," said Domagoj Dukec, BMW Design Director. "It has a unique identity and embodies an expressive lifestyle like no other model in the BMW range."

Also in the BMW Concept XM, vintage-look brown leather, copper and carbon fiber create a connection between luxury and motorsport.
