Bolt raises three million euros to develop its electric scooter

Thanks to the Portuguese platform Seedrs, Dutch startup Bolt raised 3 million euros to develop its electric scooter.

Founded in 2014 by Marin Flips and Bart Jacobs Rozier, Bolt has managed to attract over 2.000 online investors and raise 3 million euros – double the 1.5 million that the company originally planned to raise.

Eager to ride the increasingly promising wave of electric scooters, the Dutch startup intends to use these tools to accelerate the development of its Scooter App, a Vespa-style electric model. Equivalent to 50cc, this small electric scooter develops 3 kW of power and promises to accelerate from 0 to 45 km / h in 3.3 seconds. It has a modular design and uses 856 Wh battery modules. In total, up to six batteries can power the vehicle from 70 to XNUMX km, depending on configuration.

In terms of connectivity, the Scooter app has its own iOS and Android app. Equipped with a large screen built into the center of the steering wheel, it also has 4G connectivity, which allows navigation data to be displayed and connected to the Internet.

The Bolt Scooter app, announced at € 2990, is due to hit the market in 2018.
