Bridgestone wraps up 2011 Road Show

Bridgestone wraps up 2011 Road Show A large number of Polish drivers do not pay attention to the condition of their tires - this is a disturbing conclusion from tests conducted by Bridgestone in major cities.

Bridgestone wraps up 2011 Road Show The big tire inspection was organized as part of a special event under the slogan Bridgestone Road Show, the next editions of which were organized in Warsaw, Krakow, Zabrze, Wroclaw, Poznań and the Tricity. This is an element of the policy of the Japanese company, which, in addition to its production and commercial activities, is actively involved in driver training. The main goal is to improve road safety.

And so, within the framework of the event, a special motorcycle city was created in each of the places with driving simulators simulating weather changes, where drivers could test their skills, a cycling and road city for children, master classes on the topic of the first to help. However, one of the most important elements was mobile diagnostic workshops, in which the specialists of the Japanese company checked the condition of car tires. More than 5300 tires were tested during the six editions of the event. How were they inside?

“Unfortunately, more than 1000 tires were too low pressure, almost 141 tires were too low tread, and XNUMX tires were eligible for immediate replacement,” says Dorota Zdebska, Trade Marketing Specialist at Bridgestone.

This is an alarming statistic, as experts agree that tire condition has a huge impact on road safety. Driving on tires with too low pressure, not to mention worn out tread, means worse car handling, reduced stability and, finally, longer braking distances. It is also worth mentioning the possible, tragic consequences in the event of a tire failure while driving. This, unfortunately, is very likely in case of poor tire condition. While the results of the Big Test are worrisome, Bridgestone officials are not surprised.

– Studies in Western Europe clearly show that seven out of ten drivers use tires with too low pressure. Our big test should only be confirmation and motivation for further work to inform Polish drivers. “It is for them that we implement the Tire Safety project in Poland,” says Aneta Bialach, public relations specialist at Bridgestone.

We are talking about the principles of safe maintenance and operation of tires, developed by the engineers of the Japanese concern. Although it seems trivial to believe in the need for systematic control of tread depth or pressure levels, test results show that these rules need to be reminded.
