Brose Drive S: A New Motor Designed For Mountain Electric Bikes

German supplier Brose, still specializing in city models and speed bikes, has just unveiled a new motor for electric mountain bikes.

Brose enters the luscious electric mountain bike market with its new Drive S engine. Based on the same technology as the Drive T engine for urban models, the Drive S delivers speeds of up to 25 km / h. According to Volkmar Rollenbeck, Sales Director and brand marketing, this new generation of engines will offer 15% more torque even when pedaling at high cadences (60 to 90 rpm).

Outwardly, the Drive S is comparable in every way to the Drive T. “The transformation takes place inside the engine,” explains Volkmar Rollenbeck, who mentions the presence of a new electronic map and 16 new components, without giving further details. Details. 

The Drive S is expected to hit the market in September. It will complement two other engines in the line-up: Drive S for city models and Drive TF for high-speed bikes.
