Budnitz Model E: ultralight titanium e-bike

Billed as the world's lightest electric bike, the Budnitz Model E is mounted on a titanium frame and weighs less than 14kg.

While most bike manufacturers use carbon-fiber frames for their top-end models, American Budnitz is opting for titanium, a stronger yet equally lightweight material, for his new electric bike called the Budnitz Model E.

Weighing less than 14kg on the scale, the Budnitz Model E minimized the impact of electrical components and teamed up with an Italian partner to offer a 250W wheel motor, also integrated with a 160Wh battery, sensors and all the electronics associated with the bike. It is capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 km / h and provides an autonomy of 30 to 160 kilometers (which seems very generous given the size of the battery).

On the bike side, the Model E especially uses a belt drive that's lighter than a traditional chain.

The Budnitz Model E is already available to order and can be customized directly online from the manufacturer's website. In particular, you can choose colors as well as specific equipment.

In terms of price, consider it $ 3950 for the steel frame version and $ 7450 for the titanium version.
