The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, priced from $62,990, will resume orders in May.

Cadillac is ready to take orders for the 2023 Lyriq after orders for the EV Debut Edition sold out. Buyers of the new Lyriqs will also receive a free charger or cash to install a home charger.

If you're worried that you won't be able to buy it after the first batch sells out in just 10 minutes, fear not. This small batch of pre-orders was just the start, although window decals go a little further.

Cadillac to resume Lyriq orders

Cadillac announced on Monday that order books for the 2023 Lyriq will open on May 19. Potential buyers will be able to choose between rear and all-wheel drive. In addition, those who place orders will receive new incentives that will be applied retroactively to those who ordered the Debut Edition at the end of last year.

How much does a Cadillac Lyriq cost?

The 2023 Lyriq will start at $62,990 (including $1,195 destination charge) for the 340-horsepower, rear-wheel-drive Lyriq with an EPA-estimated 312-mile range. (That's $3,000 more than the Debut Edition, which went on sale for $59,990.) If you opt for the Lyriq with all-wheel drive, which increases power to 500 hp. and allows you to tow pounds, that price will jump to dollars. Often the debut special edition is the most expensive option on offer, but in this case it was the cheapest.

Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq has begun.

Buyers of the Debut Edition will not be able to access the expanded Lyriq color palette. The 2023 Lyriq can be ordered in blue and white, in addition to the gray and black that was offered for the Debut Edition. For the 2024 model year, Cadillac will add even more colors.

2 years of free charging or $1,500

However, new and returning Lyriq customers will now have access to an incentive that should help owners get used to being charged. Every Lyriq purchase will include 2 years of unlimited free charging at EVgo stations, or $1,500 to install a Tier 2 home charger. It's worth noting that $1,500 only goes towards installing a charger; the purchase of equipment is entirely at the discretion of the owner.

Once orders begin to come in, standard 2023 Lyriqs should begin arriving to owners later this year, although all-wheel-drive variants won't start shipping until early in the 2023 calendar year. Cadillac is still making Debut Editions, which are currently shipping to customers.
