Cagiva prepares its first electric motorcycle

The renowned Italian brand of the 80s Cagiva will unveil the first prototype of an electric motorcycle next November at EICMA, the 2018 two-wheeled exhibition in Milan.

Founded in 1950 by brothers Claudio and Giovanni Castiglioni, Cagiva has amalgamated several prestigious brands including Ducati and Husqvarna, which have since been bought by Audi and KTM.

After several years of silence and help from new investors, the Italian group is preparing to rise from the ashes with the first electric motorcycle prototype, which is expected at the next EICMA show in Milan.

This information was disclosed by Giovanni Castiglioni, CEO of the MV Agusta group and owner of the rights to the Cagiva brand, without going into details about the model that will be presented. Judging by the noise in the hallway, it could be an electric off-road motorcycle that could hit the market by 2020. See you at EICMA in November to find out more ...
