The new flagship variety 500 is called Dolcevita, which means "dolce vita" in Italian.

Fiat Australia has once again updated the second-generation 500 microcar, with the previously released Dolcevita special edition becoming a permanent member of the lineup.

While the Dolcevita effectively replaces the Club as the flagship 500 class, it costs $200 more and is available with a five-speed manual transmission in both hatchback ($21,450 plus road costs) and convertible ($25,450) ). the five-speed Dualogic automatic transmission is $2000.

Meanwhile, the entry-level Lounge class is still available in manual ($18,950) and automatic ($20,950) hatchback options, though they are now $300 and $250 cheaper, respectively. However, it can no longer be used as a convertible.

The interior comes standard with LED daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring, adjustable heated side mirrors and rear parking sensors.

Inside, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with voice control), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital radio, a 3.5-inch multifunction display, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Dolcevita adds dusk sensors, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, fixed sunroof (hatchback only), 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, premium cloth upholstery. color trim, single-zone climate control and cruise control.

The $1900 Lusso package can add 16-inch Diamantura Nero alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and leather upholstery to the Dolcevita, and its hatchback-style body can also get a $1500 power sunroof.

All competitor variants of the Kia Picanto and Mitsubishi Mirage are powered by a 51-liter naturally aspirated 102kW/1.2Nm four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels.

As reported, the third generation of the 500, a purely all-electric model, has yet to be confirmed for Australia, so stay tuned.
