2022 Mercedes-Benz Vito price and specs: New turbo-diesel option for updated Toyota HiAce, Hyundai Staria-Load and Ford Transit Custom rivals detailed
The Vito has been updated with a new engine option.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has updated the Vito van and Valente passenger car for 2022, with the latter renamed the Vito Tourer as part of changes due in May for both models, including a new engine option.
As before, the Vito is available in three trim levels, with the entry-level 111 still motivated by a 84kW/270Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
However, mid-range 116s and flagship 119s now come with a new and improved 2.0-liter unit that delivers the familiar 120kW/380Nm and 140kW/440Nm, respectively.
Either way, the 116 and 119 have a nine-speed torque converter automatic that has two more gears than its predecessor. The drive is sent to the rear wheels.
The 111 continues to be offered in SWB (short wheelbase) and LWB (long wheelbase) forms, while the 116 and 119 continue in MWB (medium wheelbase) and LWB versions, as well as the option of a two-row Crew Cab configuration.
Vito prices have gone up across the board, from $1158 to $4423, depending on the variant (see full pricing table below).
However, the 116 and 119 were made up for with a longer list of standard equipment, with new additions including tinted windows, comfort seats, all-season rubber floor mats, and adaptive cruise control.
Meanwhile, the eight-seat Vito Tourer can only be bought in the 116 MWB version and has gone up from $4536 to $70,336 plus travel expenses.
But the Vito Tourer now comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, an extended seat cushion, velor floor mats and adaptive cruise control.
