2022 Ram 3500 price and specs: The all-conquering double-cab 4x4 pickup truck arrives as prices rise for the new entry-level Ram 1500 with a specification update.

Ram Australia has released the biggest and arguably the coolest 4×4 double cab pickup money can buy, the next generation Ram 3500 DT.
Arriving in hot pursuit of the closely related Ram 2500, the locally "refreshed" Ram 3500 is available in a single variant, with the Laramie starting at $162,950 plus travel expenses - $16,000 more than its predecessor.
For reference, the Laramie Ram 2500 is $157,950, but it also gets the $4950 RamBox option (two 243L storage bays on the sides of the tank) that the Ram 3500 can't do without.
So what else makes the Ram 3500 different from the Ram 2500? Well, the load capacity of the first is almost twice as much - 1693 kg, and the second - 835 kg or 754 kg with Ramboxes.
Moreover, the Ram 3500 gross vehicle weight of 5352 kg (+857 kg), the maximum gross train weight of 12,837 kg (+142 kg) and the maximum rear axle load of 3175 kg (+435 kg) are also higher, with all these improvements thanks to its standard rear leaf springs.
It should be noted that the stopping power of the Ram 3500 when towed with a 50mm (3500kg) or 70mm ball (4500kg) or gooseneck assist hitch and air brakes (8000kg) is the same as the Ram 2500 with full spring suspension.
