The latest Peugeot e-208 in the Active version costs 124 PLN. An individual who receives an additional payment for the car will return PLN 900, that is, in fact, they will pay PLN 37 for it. We decided to check what equipment is included in the individual option for co-financing from the Low Emissions Transport Fund, and what we might be missing.

Let's start with a short presentation of the model, that is, with its basic technical data:

  • reception: 340 km WLTP, i.e. about 290-300 km in real range,

In addition, two elements that our readers often ask about that are important in terms of 1) higher ranges at low temperatures, 2) the rate of battery destruction:

  1. Heat pump: IS AN,
  2. active battery cooling: IS AN.

Also important the presence of a fast charging port as standard. Thanks to this, we can supplement energy with a power of up to 100 kW (manufacturer's promise). Rival Renault Zoe develops 50kW at best here – which means it will spend more time on the road with a charger.

What do we get in the active version?

The manufacturer indicates on the first page of the configurator:

  • radio with MP3, USB, 6 speakers and Bluetooth,
  • compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Link, i.e. the ability to display the phone screen on the car display,
  • 7-inch LCD,
  • 16 ”steel rims with Plaka hub caps.

The set also includes (in our opinion, we have selected the most important elements):

  • LED daytime running lights,
  • automatic light switching system (low / high beam),
  • charging cable with type 2 plugs,
  • automatic one-zone air conditioning,
  • keyless entry and central locking,
  • cruise control with speed limiter,
  • electric windshield control,
  • 6 airbags,
  • tire pressure sensors (indirect),
  • 2 Isofix service points,
  • anti-skid systems,
  • rear window tinting.

What we don't get in the e-208 Active variant, but what is essential?

The list below includes those items that in our opinion they are important and about which it's worth fighting for as a free purchase bonus. In the further part of the material, we have posted less important additions.

Here's what we might be missing Peugeot e-208 Active and which requires additional payment in excess of PLN 125:

Color. Anyone but Yellow Faro must pay at least PLN 600. Wrapping is an alternative, but here we will be dealing with expenses of several thousand zlotys.

Heated front seats. The manufacturer claims that the plant is equipped with a heat pump - at low temperatures this is an important addition. However, experience shows that simple seat heating instead of full interior heating (even with a heat pump) can allow you to get a few or ten percent of the range. The problem becomes actual in the winter when this range is the smallest.

Supplement: PLN 700.

The taillights are LED technology. By default, they are only available in the Allure version. Without them, the car can look old, which can be distracting.

Supplement: NO OPPORTUNITY, equipment only from Allure edition.

Rear parking sensors. The Active version does not have an element that makes it much easier to park in the city. It's worth paying extra or negotiating - maybe we'll even win a Visiopark 1 kit with a 180-degree rear-view camera.

Built-in 3-phase charger. A 7,4 kW single-phase charger is standard on the vehicle. If we have a garage with a 3-phase outlet, a XNUMX-kW XNUMX-phase charger would be a better and faster option.

Alarm. Although experience shows that burglar alarms protect against vandals, not thieves, many people may feel uncomfortable without them.

Less important disadvantages of the Peugeot e-208 Active

Here are some things that we do not consider critical, but may be important for many [potential] buyers:

Heated, electrically folding side mirrors. You can survive without heating and electric folding mirrors, but manual adjustment is a throwback to times long gone. Fortunately, the official specification shows that the surcharge applies only to electric folding and that heating and electric regulation are standard, pointed out our reader, Mr. Wojciech (see HERE).

Supplement: PLN 800.

The headlights are fully LED. The promotional photos we publish for the Peugeot e-208 (see below) actually always show a model with full LED headlights. They can be recognized by their characteristic three stripes.

Cordless phone charger... Chargers that support wireless (inductive) charging are becoming more common. Thanks to them, we don't have to worry about tangled wires.

Salon except black. The Active variant does not allow for any custom upholstery options, so the interior will be black with small gray accents and small silver trims here and there.

17 inch alloy wheels. They look much better, but you have to remember that the larger the rim diameter, the weaker the range per charge. The 16-inch alloy wheels in the Allure version seem to be optimal.

Peugeot i Cockpit 3D. The e-208 meters in the i-Cockpit version consist of two independent displays, one of which is closer to the driver's eye. This creates an impression of depth, looks aesthetically pleasing and allows more elements to be displayed on the screen. Looks exceptionally good from the outside.

Front parking sensors... They are less useful than the rear ones, but can be important when parallel parking in very tight spaces.

Impressions from the editor

We only had contact with the richly equipped GT model. Compared to the Renault Zoe, it seemed prettier, but cramped (height: 190 cm), and the driver's seating position was low for an electrician. The chair control was inactive, so we could not adjust the chair to suit our needs.
